Loes van Dorp her main way of creating is by getting inspired by her surroundings/observations or teastains. She loves “ thinking with her hands” because this way she can surprise herself about the outcome. Loes is a Dutch artist who has been living in Finland for about 7 years.
Her skills are broad, but her main focus is drawing and animation and she has more ideas than she can realize.

I have a talent in seeing things who aren’t really there. In shadows, rocks, scribles and stains. Often I let myself get inspired by those. In this ongoing serie ‘ Theekeningen/Tea- drawings’ , I have chosen to be inspired by tea stains on paper.
While looking at the stain, they transform into weird creatures and sceneries.
They appear to me like characters from never told stories, eager to get visible and seen.
I feel like I am a medium between them and the real world. I am just the tool that helps them to manifest themselves.
It is always a nice surprise for me who/ what comes out of the stains.
